Here is a small unedited excerpt from Page 3 of Volume One "Red Skylight."

- "The lightning comes down, but not just one or two strikes, but several. I collect them in my arms like collecting drops of water into a bucket. Each strike is more powerful and rich than the last. I collect them all, untamed and wild. The energy is moving all throughout my body, I take a deep breath then focus my movements and try controlling this raw power. I close my eyes and breathe in and out, focusing all my thoughts on this singular purpose. After a few moments of concentrating I open my eyes then motion my arms to stop moving, and as I do this the Lighting does the same. I now command it all to move with the movement of my arms. I conduct this powerful force, like a composer does and orchestra. I begin moving it in circles then over my shoulders and back. After a while I decide to get a little more creative and form it into any kind of shape I can think of. I do this until I have built up a large amount of power and control, then I let it all go at once, straight above me. It launches up through the clouds causing them to flash violently yet beautifully, as more lighting is drawn to this great power I just released."

Though the First Book (soon to be referred to as Volume One "Red") is not finished, I decided to try out a very, very, very rough/simple character design for the main character in the Book series (The final image will be more realistic looking and overall better... this is just a quick test of one of his possible looks.)

Jak, you must always believe in people, even if many may do horrible and atrocious acts. They can do even greater good, you must always have faith in all people, but just as importantly… also have faith in yourself. The Universe is not perfect. There are trials and horrors you will encounter in your life that will push you to your limits. And they will not let up nor will they help you up. If you're willing to go through all the battling you got to go through to get where you want to get, who's got the right to stop you? I mean maybe you got something you never finished, something you really want to do, something you never said to someone, something... and you're told NO, even after you paid your dues? Who's got the right to tell you that, who?... Nobody! It's your right to listen to your gut, it ain't nobody's right to say NO, after you earned the right to be where you want to be, and do what you want to do!

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!


Now if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth! But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!

We are in hell right now gentlemen believe me, and we can stay here and get the crud kicked out of us or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch, at a time. You know when you get old in life things get taken from you. That's, that's part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out that life is just a game of inches. The margin for error is so small. I mean one half step too late or to early you don't quite make it. One half second too slow or too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They are in ever break of the game every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch. On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch. Cause we know when we add up all those inches that's going to make the freaking difference between WINNING and LOSING between LIVING and DYING. I'll tell you this in any fight, it is the guy who is willing to die who is going to win that inch. And I know if I am going to have any life anymore it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch because that is what LIVING is. The six inches in front of your face.

Though there are times where my faith in Humanity has wavered... and I know there will always will be a struggle to keep my faith. But i'll never give up hope that people will do the right thing. I am sad her life along with so many other's were lost. But there is a brighter better tomorrow, we just have to keep building each other up and supporting one another to reach it.

You know how we are told that when we give service or do nice things… good things happen, or we are given blessings. Perhaps when you do service to a fellow human being, one of those blessings is the pure Joy and Happiness you feel afterward. Because Happiness is something that is so wonderful and immeasurable that it cannot be completely explained on what it feels like. It is so great a feeling that even if the world is crashing down around you, that feeling… that Happiness can make it appear as though everything is balanced and at peace.

I think that the big secret of receiving blessings is not a just being rewarded later on, but how you feel right after you've done something selfless… that is what I believe to be a Blessing.

First Paragraph of Book One...

Billions of years ago, the Universe was a place of pure darkness. Inhabited only by dark beings who relished and grew powerful in the shadows, and for eon's darkness and fear ruled all. But a small race of immortal light beings put forth the first spark in the vast darkness. These beings known simply as the "Light" were made of pure white energy, the most powerful force ever to exist, and the natural enemy of darkness. The Light took it upon themselves to defy the Dark. Though they were immensely outnumbered, the Light was greater and stronger than the beings they deemed as the "Dark Ones." But the war still raged for millennia's. The Light knew something had to be done, or the war may never end. They decided that a great sacrifice had to be made. It was the only way to end the war and stop the Dark Ones. Though this sacrifice would be a great loss of life, it would change everything. They would give their lives to ignite The Universe, this final act of selflessness and courage would create all of the stars and planets in the sky, and in essence... life.

Small tiny update... I have started doing a few character designs, (very rough designs and they look like they were drawn by a blind fish, lol.) But I have also written about 43 or so pages out of the 300 for Book one. So only 260+ more to go! lol.

Main synopsis of Book series...

 Book One:

Red

"Life and Light Begin."

First the Universe was but pure darkness, ruled by ones deemed "The Dark Ones." They relished and grew powerful in the shadows for Billions of years. But a single star where beings of pure light lived, defied the darkness, they wished for life and light to begin in the universe. The Dark Ones wished for no such thing, so a great and terrible war began. Both Light and Darkness fought for millennia's, but eventually The Light defeated The Dark Ones. They then used all of their power to ignite and start the Universe, which in essence created all life. They created special planets to imprison The Dark Ones. And for billions of years there was peace and growth. But the Light beings knew this peace would not last, and that The Dark Ones would eventually escape and try to destroy all light and life. So they set into motion a plan, a series of events of which would stop the Dark Ones, should they ever return. The Light beings found that Humans were different than all other races in the Universe, they found that they had the potential to overcome any obstacle in their way. They also believed they could defeat Darkness once and for all. So a healthy Human being was needed, and part of The Light's own essence was to be given to him, which would instill powerful abilities needed for him to fulfill his destiny. They acted as Fate to help two chosen Humans meet and fall in love. The two Humans did, and they soon had a child. This child was chosen to be the last hope for the survival of all life in the Universe. The child's name was Jak, he was half Human and half light energy. He was created for one singular purpose… to keep balance and light in the Universe...

But his purpose would prove to be more difficult than he and his creators could have ever imagined.
